Lego Boat adds dimension to Team SCA

Do you yearn to be a model boat builder? Start with more than 100,000 Lego pieces and you could eventually build a replica of the scale model of the 2.5 metre long Team SCA model VO65.

The startlingly realistic pink and white model boat is one-tenth the size of the real thing raced by the all-women's team in the Volvo Ocean Race.

The model designed and built by Johan Sahlstrom and Anders Christensen took over 1,200 hours to create and build.  No, it doesn't float but is has working functions like rudders, cantink keel, winches and pedestals. What's more it uses no glue.

It's just one small buy eye-catching part of the impressive Team SCA Pavilion at the Volvo Ocean Race Village, which tells the story of the women's team and their sponsor the world-leading Swedish global hygiene and forest products company.
