RNZYS official signing

 

 

The Quarter Deck Restaurant at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron was the setting for the official signing of the agreement appointing the Squadron to manage the racing during the Auckland Stopover of the Volvo Ocean Race in 2015.

 

RNZYS Commodore Steve Burrett (seated left above) and Port Director Tom Mayo (right) signed the agreement, witnessed by (from left) Paul Stocks (Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment), Graham Rouse (ATEED), Brett O'Reilly (ATEED), Colin Carran (RNZYS Committee Member), Vice Commodore Andy Anderson, Richard Wingfield (RNZYS Committee Member and Chairman of the Auckland Stopover Organising Committee), Rear Commodore Steve Mair, Grant Calder (General Manager, Mayo&) and Hayden Porter (RNZYS General Manager).

 

"We had a successful partnership with the RNZYS during the 2012 Stopover and look forwrd to building on that for the 2015 event," said Mayo. "We believe the enthusiasm, professionalism and expertise shown by the Squadron and its members will provide a world class platform for exciting and safe racing in the Waitemata Harbour in March next year."
